Leica Summicron-C

€0.00

Following the renowned Summilux-C line, the Leica Summicron-C lenses were introduced to offer a more affordable and easier-to-produce lens collection. These Summicron-C lenses are approximately 30% shorter and 20% lighter compared to the Summilux-C lenses, featuring a maximum aperture of T2.0, which is one stop slower. With an image circle exceeding 34 mm, they are well-suited for the open gate sensor of the Alexa 35, and they color match the Summilux-C series.

The minimum aperture is T22, and they can be completely closed. All of the lenses come with PL mounts, 95 mm front diameters, and measure 101 mm (4 inches) in length. While these lenses employ a near-telecentric design, they utilize more cost-effective helical focus mechanisms instead of a non-linear cam-follower arrangement, which allows for some focus breathing. Notably, the optical design of the Summicron-C lenses was executed by the Oscar-winning optical designer Iain A. Neil, known for his work on various lens systems, including the Panavision Primo Primes, Zooms, and Macro Zooms, Leitz Summilux-C primes, as well as Anamorphic/i and S8/i prime lenses.
